Reason for Portuguese course

‘I’m moving to Lisbon for my job and want to integrate as quickly as I possibly can. I don’t have to speak Portuguese for my job at Heineken, but I think it would be nice to be able to chat with colleagues.’

Programme

‘My course is eight days in total, with a weekend off in between. I have four private lessons a day with two different trainers—one of them is Portuguese and the other is Brazilian. It’s good to hear the differences in pronunciation. I’m going to Portugal, but most Portuguese speakers are actually Brazilian. It’s a huge advantage to have more than one trainer.’

Experience

‘The programme is very intensive and that’s good because I can really see the tremendous progress I’m making. That fact that I already speak French and Spanish is a big advantage, although pronunciation is another story altogether. That’s what I’m practicing a lot with the trainers. All-in-all, I’m further along than I’d expected.’
