Steal the show with your language skills
Do you want to learn how to speak a foreign language easily without thinking about the rules you learned at school? Then follow an online language booster at Regina Coeli. You practice for 50 minutes, twice a week, in one-to-one conversations with your language trainer. You do this using Skype, for example. The lessons are all about you, so you don’t work on things you already know but instead talk about subjects that fit in with your world of experience.
You’ll notice that you start speaking more and more fluently in the lessons and that at school, things also get easier and easier. You might even notice that you don’t have to focus on learning vocabulary and grammar as much because you already know it.
Why Regina Coeli?

Learning a language with the famous nuns
Maybe you’ve never heard of Regina Coeli, but does the name ‘the Nuns of Vught’ ring a bell with you or your parents? Our language institute’s roots lie in a religious order, and the lessons used to be taught by nuns. Those lessons were so good that we became famous for them.
Now, we mainly give language training to people with important international jobs. Of course, our language trainers have to be able to have proper conversations with them, which is why they’re all highly educated and speak several languages. We still regularly hear our trainees say: ‘I learned the language better in five days than in all my years at school together.’
An extra boost: come for the language boost weekend!
You can also work on a foreign language for an entire weekend. You start on Friday evening and stay with us at Regina Coeli in Vught until Sunday afternoon. Over the course of the weekend, you have private lessons with our language trainers, practice with the other participants and stay overnight in one of the rooms in our accommodation. No doubt it’ll be an unforgettable event!
You are more than welcome to join us for a language weekend from 19 to 21 February 2021 and from 22 to 24 October 2021.
Questions and answers on the language boost for students
Do you give traditional tutoring in languages?
The online language boost can be seen as tutoring in really learning how to communicate in a foreign language. In the long run, this is much more useful than learning how to take an exam. Because you spend so much time speaking with a native speaker, you develop a better feel for the language, and you notice that listening, reading and grammar also become a lot easier.
Do I get homework from the language trainer?
We assume that you already get enough homework at school. Still, you can always talk with your language trainer about whether you want to practise more between your lessons.
What level are the lessons?
Because you’re taught individually, your level determines the level of the lesson!
Who gives the lessons?
You’re taught by a Regina Coeli language trainer. These are people who grew up in the language you want to learn better. For example, German lessons are given by people who grew up in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, studied there and later came to the Netherlands. They all speak Dutch by now.
When do the lessons take place?
Together, we agree on when your lessons take place. This is possible between 16.00 and 20.00, from Monday to Friday, and in line with when the language trainer has space in their diary. The lessons take place at the same time every week.
Why are you now also offering training courses for young people?
We get loads of requests from parents throughout the year as to whether we can teach their children. Until now, we haven’t had the opportunity to do so. Because of the corona crisis, we’ve gained a great deal of experience in providing online lessons—including to young people—and we’ve found that this is a very good way for young people to learn a language better.
Can I also come to Vught for a language course?
We’ve organised a unique opportunity —a language boost weekend—for the weekend of 26 to 28 February 2021 and from 15 to 17 October 2021. You stay with us for a weekend at our language institute in Vught and take private lessons, but, of course, you also get to practice with the other participants. The language boost weekend is suitable for everyone from 15 to 18 years old.
