Business English for teams

Before the training starts, we discuss your organisation’s needs. Why does the team need English? Which situations occur regularly? What is already going well, and where is there the most room for improvement?

We then have an individual consultation with each participant. This helps us determine their language level, personal learning goals and the best training format. Based on this information, we create a programme that suits both the team and each individual participant.

Your team does not receive a standard English course. Instead, the training is directly connected to your daily work.

Immersion with the Nuns of Vught

English team training follows Regina Coeli’s intensive daily schedule. This schedule is an important part of our method. Participants attend several lessons each day, work with different language trainers and review the material between lessons.

During the training:

• the team attends group lessons with different language trainers
• participants practise realistic workplace situations
• participants complete multimedia exercises individually or work together on assignments
• there is time for personal feedback
• participants can join a language table or dinner supervised by a trainer
• participants can stay overnight at our location in Vught.

The combination of lessons, review periods and practice sessions helps participants stay focused. They are encouraged not only to learn English, but above all to use it.

Not every participant has exactly the same language level or learning goals. One employee may want to improve their presentation skills, while another may want to focus on client conversations or writing. There may also be large differences in English levels within a team.

For this reason, we also offer Team training Plus. This programme combines group lessons with private lessons. During the group lessons, the team works towards shared goals. During the private lessons, each participant receives personal support with their own learning needs.

This combination is suitable for teams that want to train together but also need individual development.

Many teams that attend English training at Regina Coeli consist of Dutch-speaking colleagues who need English for their work. However, international teams can also benefit greatly from English team training.

Possible alternatives to team training

• Team training Plus: a combination of private lessons and several shared group lessons.
• A combined approach: individual business English training for one or more participants, together with team training for the other team members.
• Individual training on the same days: each participant follows a personal programme, while the team can still meet during breaks and other informal moments.

How large can the team be?
We work with small groups, usually four or five people. This gives every participant enough opportunity to practise actively and receive personal feedback. Would you like to train more employees? We can usually create several groups within the same organisation.

Is English team training available for two people?
Yes. English team training at Regina Coeli is available for groups of two or more people. For two participants, we tailor the programme to their shared goals as well as their individual learning needs.

Do you also provide in-company English training?
Yes, we can also provide training at your organisation’s premises. However, an intensive programme is often more difficult to organise there than at our location in Vught. Employees are more likely to be interrupted by telephone calls, meetings or other work. In-company programmes therefore usually consist of several lessons of around two hours, spread over a number of weeks. Together, we decide which format best suits your goals and schedule.

Where does the team training take place?
Most team training programmes take place at Regina Coeli in Vught. Here, participants can concentrate fully on the training without the distractions of their everyday working environment. It is also possible to stay overnight. This strengthens the team’s focus and turns the programme into a shared learning experience.

What happens if the participants have different levels of English?
Before the training, we have an individual consultation with each participant. This allows us to determine their language level and personal learning goals. If the differences are significant, we can create several groups or choose Team training Plus, which combines group lessons with private lessons.
