‘The most important thing we offer our students is the confidence to speak German. That’s why it’s crucial to properly pre-determine what someone will be able to learn in a week. It should not only be realistic, but also exactly what that person needs for their daily practice. In the intake appointment, we make an initial assessment of someone’s skills and want to get a solid idea of what someone does for a living. We adjust and steer the programme during the training to make sure the lessons remain a good fit for the student. We discuss things as a team a number of times and divide the tasks very conscientiously to work as purposefully as possible.’
