Frequently asked questions about Dutch courses at Regina Coeli
I’ve already tried learning Dutch so many times. Why would it work at Regina Coeli?
Our method differs from other language institutes in several crucial areas:
- You follow a personalised programme that's completely in line with your goals and interests. You’ll be enthusiastic from start to finish because the training is all about you.
- You receive plenty of personal attention through the guidance and private lessons given by your trainers. You go at your own pace and don’t have to take others into account.
- Everyone at the institute is learning a foreign language when they’re there. That’s incredibly motivating.
- You can retreat from the world and concentrate completely on learning the language with us.
- Because you work so intensively with the language, you really notice how quickly you progress.
These elements ensure that you can learn to speak languages so well when you come to Regina Coeli.
Is a three-day course also an option?
We offer short programmes over various weekends throughout the year. These run from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The Language Weekend is suitable for those with a level of A2.2 or higher.
For participants with a lower starting level, the shortest training is five days. This is because experience has taught us that people with a lower skill level can only then begin to come to grips with Dutch.
What is better—an intensive week or part-time training?
The choice of an intensive week or part-time training depends mainly on your schedule. Is it possible to come to Regina Coeli for an entire working week, or is that difficult to pair with your home or work life?
In addition, part-time training may be a consideration if it has been a long time since you have studied and think you might need some breathing space, as that is precisely what the part-time training offers.
Why do you need an A2.2 level to join the Language Weekend?
There are two reasons for this:
- The Language Weekend programme includes several moments when you need to be able to interact freely in Dutch. On Friday evening, for instance, we start with a language table, and that takes place entirely in Dutch. As a beginner, you would not be capable of participating in that.
- For someone with a level lower than A2.2, we recommend a training course lasting a minimum of five days.

An ideal place to learn Dutch
At Regina Coeli, you're able to completely concentrate on learning the Dutch language. You stay in a quiet environment and really escape from work and daily life. You get to practise and experiment with the language to the fullest at our language institute.
Regina Coeli’s roots lie in those of our founders’ international cloister. For a long time, the lessons were given by an international group of nuns. Nowadays, highly educated Dutch people teach Dutch. We are still proudly known as ‘the Nuns of Vught’.
