Ilja studied Spanish with a specialisation in translating at the University of Nijmegen.
‘I want to share my love of languages, and the Dutch language in particular. Our method is designed to have you using the language in a real life context. The way I do that is by using engaging examples of things you might come across in normal life. That really brings the language to life. I also try to draw parallels between Dutch and the student’s native language whenever I can. What’s nice is that when you understand the Dutch language, you immediately gain insight into our culture. In Dutch we call that “twee vliegen in één klap”, or killing two birds with one stone.’
