Huub studied agricultural and water engineering at Wageningen University and worked as an engineer in dozens of countries for more than 25 years. Took courses at Regina Coeli on three separate occasions and saw a future in it for himself.
‘Even the technically-minded can learn a language. I’m a definitely good example of that—I even became a language teacher! If you approach language learning from a technical, schematic perspective, it’s actually all very logical. That’s why a lot of techies love the grammar lessons most. I give a lot of conversation lessons. Men and women in engineering and technology tend to enjoy those a bit less, but I can always get them talking! My goal is to give my trainees so much confidence that they really dare to speak Dutch during the course week.’
